Winkler, MB – January 15, 2009 –

The Progressive Group of Companies through Progressive Meats Inc has completed the purchase of Winkler Meats Ltd on December 31, 2008, and is committed to maintaining their high quality products while enhancing existing product lines.

The Progressive Group of Companies is a Manitoba-based organization, which has ownership in a number of companies including Progressive Meats, and will be the managing partner in Winkler Meats Ltd.


“We have always been impressed with Winkler Meats products and the operation  of Winkler Meats,” said Dickson Gould, President of Progressive Meats and The Progressive Group of Companies, “and we are excited with the consumer confidence and recognition for the quality and tradition of the Winkler Meats brand.”

Progressive Meats offers a dependable supply of raw material and will continue to operate out of Winkler under the Winkler Meats name.  Staff will be maintained and the support of local organizations and projects will continue.
